About Fana
Fana is a widespread area of stunning nature, mountains and lakes. Mountain Livarden is located southeast of the Ulriken mountain area, with a summit of 683 meters above sea level. Hiking on Livarden is a popular activity for locals as well as visitors. There are several routes of different time, distance and level to choose from to suite any level of experience. The waterfall at Fana is another top destination worth a visit. This beautiful waterfall is surrounded by green moss landscapes and is especially popular to visit during late summer. Fana is historically famous for being home to ‘Gamlehaugen’, one of the residences of the Royal Family.
Fana Geography
This southeastern borough of Bergen is part of Hordaland country in Norway. Fana is geographically the largest area of Bergen, home to around 41,000 people. Most of the major industries in the area are located near the neighbourhood ‘Nesttun’. Most of the northeastern parts make up residential areas, and dominated by inhabitants. On the northeastern boundary, the mountain ‘Livarden’ is located with its 683 metres above sea level.
